(DALLAS, TX – August 25, 2021) – After more than 18 months apart, buyers and exhibitors joined together yesterday for the opening of the American Gem Trade Association’s (AGTA) GemFair™ Las Vegas. Housed in a new venue this year, the Encore Ballroom at the Encore Resort, GemFair Las Vegas opened with beaming faces and a steady traffic flow.
“There was a distinctly positive vibe on the floor today,” said Douglas K. Hucker, AGTA CEO. “Our industry is a global one, but it’s also a very tight-knit community. So, watching our buyers reconnecting with our suppliers and each other was remarkable. I think the best way to characterize it is we are seeing a palpable sense of optimism that we are getting back to normalcy and clearly, our buyers are responding and restocking.”
“After a long time, it was so good coming together. We met new people, we saw our regular customers,” said AGTA exhibitor Catherine Jensen, Michael Jensen Designs. “We are thankful for the opportunity to be here.”

The 2021 AGTA GemFair™ Denver dates are September 18 – 21, 2021, and the 2022 AGTA GemFair™ Tucson is February 1 – 6, 2022.
