Vincent Pardieu, VP Consulting WLL
Vincent Pardieu is a consultant Field Gemologist at VP Consulting WLL. For the past 20 years he travelled to gem mining areas around the world for gemological research. Richard W. Hughes once introduced Vincent as Nobody dead or alive has visited as many gem mines as Vincent. With 155 field expeditions to Asia, Africa, Australia, Americas, he might be right. Vincent witnessed firsthand the complex realities of colored gemstones mining & trading and he specialized in the gem lab about on origin determination of colored gemstones.
From 2002 to 2008 he was worked as spinel buyer in Myanmar (where he coined the word spinel), then Director for the AIGS Lab in Bangkok (where he coined the wording field gemology), then as gemologist at the Gübelin Gem Lab, From 2008 to 2017 he was tasked by Ken Scarratt to build the GIA Field Gemology department.
Since Jan 2017 he created his consultancy company: VP Consulting WLL. He has collaborated since with the Bahrain Institute for Pearls & Gemstones (DANAT), with Greenland Ruby, with DAI for a lab project in Kabul (Afghanistan), and with the LFG Laboratoire Français de Gemmologie in Paris and with MUZO.
