The International Colored Gemstone Association (ICA) announces the return of the ICA-organized Gemstone Industry & Laboratory Conference (GILC) to Tucson. The event, supported by AGTA, is strictly by invitation-only. Alan Revere receives the AJDC Benne Award

The American Jewelry Design Council will honor Alan Revere with a Lifetime Achievement award, called the Benne Award. The award is named after Benvenuto Cellini and has been given four times over 30 years. Amongst the recipients are Mort Abelson, Ettagale Blauer and  Cindy Edelstein. It is given to individuals who have made great contributions to to the field of American Jewelry Design. Alan has written seven books and has run the Revere Academy in San Francisco for over 35 years, where thousands of students trained and honed their skills in jewelry design and fabrication. He has lectured and juried many exhibitions and served as the president of the American Jewelry Design Council.
