Mastoloni Pearls was founded by Fran’s grandfather in the 1940s and evolved under the direction of his father and uncles. Fran is part of the third generation, as well as two cousins, who are carrying on the company’s legacy. The company specializes in better-quality cultured South Sea, Tahitian, and Akoya pearls, and is also developing new sources of nucleated freshwater pearls for stateside collectors. 

Fran’s responsibilities include buying, merchandising, and distributing all types of cultured pearls to U.S. retailers. Fran lived in Japan to learn exporting, returning to the U.S. to continue to develop the import business, and has spent the last 42 years helping Mastoloni grow, change, and flourish as a premier American pearl brand.
