A big thank you goes out to Picup Media for supplying their GemLightboxes and GemLoupes, and to all of our incredible attendees that donated to support the Special Olympics Arizona Raffle at the AGTA GemFair™ Tucson. We are happy to announce that we raised over $4,000 and are so thankful for everything that Special Olympics Arizona does!
AGTA has sponsored a charitable event for the Law Enforcement Torch Run for the Special Olympics Arizona for many years. But with the pandemic forcing us to cancel all social gatherings, we were not able to hold an event for 2022.
In lieu of the 5k, we worked together with Picup Media to put together a raffle to continue our support of the Special Olympics Arizona.
Here are the winners of the raffle:
- Joshua Nassi, 100% Natural, Ltd.
- Danielle Barber, Suna Bros.
- Mark Lassater, The Clam Shell
- Pini Pinchasi, Harpaz Gem, Inc. dba Tamir
- Tali Nay, GIA
Can’t wait to see you all in Tucson next year for the Scotty Woodward Classic 5k!
About Scotty Woodward
Scotty was the beautiful son of Skip and Cindi Woodward who have been part of the AGTA family in Tucson for forty years. Scotty was often at his father’s side and was a part of the AGTA team since GemFair started. Skip, head of security, and Scotty spent many years making GemFair safe and secure. Scotty participated as an athlete in the Special Olympics starting at age seven. He won over 100 medals, including three for power-lifting at the World Games. Scotty passed away in 2018 at age 41. This 5k honors his memory and shows our appreciation to the City of Tucson, the Tucson Police Officers who secure our show, Tucson Police Department and the Arizona Special Olympics.
