To begin, let us assure you that the 2022 AGTA GemFair™ Tucson, February 1-6, 2022, is on schedule as planned. The AGTA’s priority is for the safety of the buyers and exhibitors who attend the show. Because of this, AGTA will forego large, social gatherings this year including the 40th Anniversary Opening Night celebration; the AGTA Spectrum Awards™ Gala dinner; and the AGTA GemFair™ Tucson Seminar Series sponsored by the American Gem Society.
“We have had an extraordinarily strong response of buyer registrations and our exhibitor participation is over 90% compared to 2020. The entire industry has been excited about our show, which always kicks off the beginning of each year, and I am elated to let you know that all signs are pointing to a monster show,” said Douglas K. Hucker, AGTA CEO. “Many of our attendees have indicated that they will be focused on business and would prefer not to attend social events or presentations. So, we made the difficult decision to forego those plans for 2022.”
The AGTA GemFair™ Tucson show safety guidelines will follow both the City of Tucson and the Pima County Health Department protocols for attendance in the Tucson Convention Center. Masks will be required for all attendees. We will also provide daily on-site rapid testing as well as on-site vaccinations provided by the Pima County Health Department for anyone who would like to partake. Neither rapid tests, nor proof of vaccinations are required to enter the facility or attend the show but are being offered as a voluntary service for peace of mind.
